The Summer Festival at Sceaux Gardens
The
festival saw people participating in mural painting, making hats and
other craft things, story-telling, singing, games, a parade and many
other activties.
The mural still shines on the wall near the children's playground,
brightening up the grass area and giving people something lovely to
look at. We still have good memories and hope that all the people
who came to last year's festival will come back. But also that lots
of new folks will come to celebrate and help make this years'
festival even more memorable.
This
year, we hope the festival will include more people and there will
be activities for children, young people, adults, families, senior
citizens and even babies! We hope to have many different things
happening; the arts, crafts and story-telling that we had last year and everything, from guitar workshops to hairstyling, from
football and basketball to street dancing, circus skills, DJing,
Drama, dance and much, much more!
There will also be a Youth Convoy which is travelling through Europe
and dropping in at the Summer Festival to share their experiences
with us and to do activities with us.
If
you have any interests, skills or hidden talents, or you'd like to
help with the festival in any way, come along to the drop-in every
Thursday at the Tenants Hall (see below). The Summer Festival can be
created by all of us on the estate, so if you want something to be
included or you want to see something happening during the festival,
then come and get your voice heard!
The Summer Festival is a week-long celebration of and for Sceaux
Gardens and the people who live here; an opportunity for everyone,
whoever you are and wherever you're from, to learn new things, share
ideas and skills, meet new people, make new friends and enjoy
ourselves! ... See you there!
